AC/DC Italia and AC/DC Abruzzo have recently learned about the sudden departure of one of the greatest AC/DC fans in the world. Alex had been a fan and a friend of the band since the 1970's. We had the honour to meet him and talk to him on several occasions both in North America and Europe during the Black Ice tour. His enthusiasm and passion for AC/DC were contagious. We send our condolences to his family and to all those who will miss Alex.

AC/DC Abruzzo is still working on the preparation of the AUSTRALIAN tour. Not easy... But we definitely stick to our guns. Project Australia must HAPPEN.
We are also eagerly waiting for the confirmation of the remaining dates for the 2010 European tour. For the moment only Sofia May 14, 2010 was officially confirmed. We doubt the tour will end in Berlin. Maybe some club/intimate gigs like in 2003... We talked to Ross Young here in Sydney a few days ago. He confirmed the next one MIGHT be the last album...
We also received the report of the Argentinian adventures of a good friend of AC/DC Abruzzo: Monkey64... We got in touch with this crazy guy at the beginning of the European tour and we've been exchanging emails since then. Ironically, we were at many concerts during the European tour but never met in person... He definitely shares AC/DC Abruzzo's founding principles and got the rockstar lifestyle and attitude we also have...

Argentinian Chronicles: Pogo for life...
When I attended my first rock festival in Argentina in 2003, I knew the sacred fire of rock'n'roll was pouring in the Argentines' blood. Since then, seeing Ac/Dc in Argentina (or Chile.. ) was in top position in my list of things to do before I die, the combination of the best crowd in the world with the best live band in the world. Yes, I'm talking about serious life goals here.
December 2nd.
No pitch ticket this time, bought an official seated ticket at the gates, but had I waited a bit longer I could have bought a pitch ticket as they started to sell those as well. Oh well. It's tough to be an ac/dc addict.
" First I thought, what a douchebag, who still wears aviator shades in 2009, then I was blown away by his flamboyant haircut and utter confidence with the girls. This guy is awesome. He must be an apprentice of the KOSP... Or maybe the Kosp himself...."
As expected, the crowd delivers, they're all jumping around like maniacs, in the field and on their seats. Planes are taking off and landing above the stadium, people are lighting freakin flares in the freaking crowd! It's just unreal.

December 4th
I head to the stadium early, and find Kiyossan (another crazy fan from Japan!!) waiting in line. Perfect, I ninja my way into the line. Waiting in the line with the other fans is the best. This is pogo time. According to Kiyossan who was in the field for day 1, it's gonna be tough, lots of pushing and crowd movement.
It isn't that bad, nobody is passing out like in Paris , but the crowd is wild because of the DVD recording. Even during The Jack there was a lot of pushing like you can tell from this vid. And watch that crazy/brave girl's reactions when she decides to occupy centre stage... AHAHAHAH
POGO VORTEX
The most fascinating phenomenon I witnessed in these three days in Argentina is by far the POGO VORTEX... It is known in Europe too but here it reaches absolute perfection. It starts when three or more people use their strength to create an opening in the packed crowd. Then the pinball effect starts.... During the intro of Whole Lotta Rosie, they started to make small openings, then suddenly people around were like "Oh shit, pogo incoming, I don't want any part of this" then the circle would get bigger and bigger and sustain itself as more people would try to get away from it. Here's a video of this interesting phenomenon... (You can see fear in my eyes... and Lots of adrenaline...)

December 6th
Every muscle of my body hurts. Still one concert to go. My strategy is to relax, get to the stadium late while the people are getting tired of jumping between songs,and enjoy the first songs from a distance while the crowd is unleashing the fury, then use my ninja skills to navigate to the stage and enjoy the moshpitt.
The crowd is no where near as excited as during the second concert but still pretty wild. So here's the last vid from the second concert ! I salute you! Fire! Legendary experience... Soon on DVD!!

In the last 24 hours the President of AC/DC Abruzzo has been working in the new AC/DC Abruzzo office in Sydney to plan the AC/DC Abruzzo European tour. Yesterday there was a frantic exchange of emails among Orangus in Milan, the Vice President in Abruzzo and the President to create the roadmap for the final leg of Black Ice World Tour and to cohordinate the purchase of tickets. The Secretary General, on the contrary, could be reached only via sms. Apparently he's still working full time on project Australia.

Unanimity was reached on the fact that the Italian show is our number 1 priority. The Italian crowd proved to be the best of the entire European tour last year at the Forum of Milan so we all agreed that the Udine show will be memorable and cannot be missed.
Yesterday there were also contacts with the KOSP who strongly recommended to attend the following shows if they are confirmed.

The President just got an email from Orangus back in Milan confirming the rumour about the come back of AC/DC to ITALIA!!! Although the news has not been officially confirmed yet by the band, www.rockol.it, an authoritative Italian music website, stated that AC/DC will be playing Italy on May 19, 2010 at the Stadio Friuli in Udine (approx. capacity 50,000 people). Obviously, if this rumour proves wrong AC/DC Abruzzo will have to kick some ass... But to be honest we also received a call from sources very close to people close to the band confirming the comeback to Italy next year. So we can continue to implement our nonviolence policy... ahahah
For the record Nice, June 15 and Paris Stade De France June 18 were also confirmed!!

Busy days of hard work for AC/DC Abruzzo staff... After the gigantic dose of Rock'n'Roll in Argentina the Vice President has finally come back to the Abruzzo headquarters for some deserved rest. (But apparently he is already planning the next international trip... New Zealand?) The President is still in Sydney, Australia experiencing the OZ summer lifestyle and working out the final details of the Australian tour (including the collaboration with the Kosp). The Secretary General secretely met with Orangus/Belfagor before the premiere of Carmen, a few days ago, at La Scala Opera Theatre of Milan, to discuss some private business including the Japan minitour in March. Project AC/DC Abruzzo goes on!

Tonight we received a surprise phone call from Marcom and Andrea during the guitar intro of Highway to Hell live in Buenos Aires... It was really a pleasant surprise... Here's what they told us over the phone after the show:
Marcom: Chettaffatto!No extra cameras tonight. Don't ask me why but the DVD will be just the footage of the second night... I guess it will be enough anyway... Maybe they wìll add some audio from the other shows... We don't know... (The DVD probably won't be released before June). Anyway amazing performance of Brian tonight. He was on fire. Old school kick-ass performance of Angus. He was so happy about the response of the crowd during the LTBR solo that he took a bow in the middle of it to thank the audience. Incredible! The solo went on for some extra minutes. Possibly the longest LTBR solo of the entire tour... The audience was crazy as usual. One funny thing about Argentinian crowd is that you get to see people jumping wildly not only in the pitch but even on the second level on seats on the side in the Stadium... This time we decided to see most of the show in front of the catwalk, just in the middle. The sound there was so good that it was pure for our ears... Amazing! One funny story for our readers. On Wednesday we were doing some grocery shopping in a local supermarket called DISCO in the centre of the city and we bumped into Ellen buying snacks ect. That was really funny! AC/DC Abruzzo and AC/DC Italia doing grocery shopping with Angus' wife in Argentina!!! AHAHAHAH. We also met Ross who was really cool with all his Facebook fans. We really loved his Ferrari jacket... Pretty nice! The band was pretty busy signing autographs with hundreds of fans. Always very cool...Another funny thing was the non authorised sellers of t-shirts outside the stadium. They mixed it up pretty well. Like you could see T-shirts with creative artwork such as Bon Scott on Razor's Edge album cover or souvenir t-shirts of the Argentinian tour with 4 dates instead of 3... AHAHAH
Andrea: Yesterday we went to the Boca Junior soccer match. Bellissimo! And today we had again 400g Argentinian steaks before the show... We love Argentina!

From the Vice President in Buenos Aires (December 5 - 10 am Argentinian Time)
NGULA! (this means F***ing Hell in Abruzzese!) So we were in the pitch tonight. Marco, Alessandra and me... After 3 songs we basically lost Marco (during Shoot to Thrill he twisted his ankle but apparently he kept jumping till the end anyway). During Dirty Deeds we were so pressed we couldn't even move or raise our arms! AHAHAH From the beginning to the end of the show we were going left and right, backward and forward, up and down. It was like going on the roller coster with AC/DC playng a few metres from you....AHAHAHAH... We had a hell of a time! But listen to this: During Whole lotta Rosie a circle of a 10 metre of diameter suddenly opened and we ended up just in the middle. In the eye of the vortex... Then the pimball effect started! Pazzesco! It was a lot of fun!! The weirdest thing to understand for those who were not there it was that we never felt it was violent, like it happened to us in England or somewhere else during the tour. And nobody was drunk! Umbelievable! People were just jumping and singing and hugging each other. Like Spain but way more energetic! Everyone was having the time of their life. Big gracias to the Argentinians for this...!
They recorded the whole show with extra cameras everywhere! During our going back and forth we saw the camera on that trolley going left and right in the middle of the audience. What do you call it? No, it's not a steadycam. Anyway you got the idea... We stopped by to say CIAO! AHAHAHAH The performance of the band was much better tonight than on the other night. They were warming up for the first take... Marco says the crowd was less wild... I don't agree. At least that's the impression I got.... Ah... We also had some juicy Angus Argentinian T-bone steaks... before the show obviously... Delicious... Pics and videos soon! ;-)

We forgot to tell you that at the first show there were even fireworks INthe audience (like flares supporters use to celebrate during soccer matches). The last time we saw that was in 2001 during Highway to Hell at the SDF in Paris... (Or maybe was Stadio Delle Alpi in Turin...)
Anyway while the second Buenos Aires concert is approaching we publish the comments full of excitement of another friend from Spain who is also in Argentina at the moment for these 3 memorable nights of rock'n'roll!
tomorrow and sunday, I'll be in the pitch hehe, the japanese guy from the forum was in the pitt second row and it was so violent that he had to go back ( extreme pushing like the crowds in paris or london, it's like a crowd that is more vocal than bilbao, extreme pushing like paris, and everyone jumping from the front to the back)I'm kind of scared and excited at the same time, I know those argentineans are wild, but I think dying during an ac/dc concert is one of the best way to die :)

We just managed to reach the Vice President in his hotel room in Buenos Aires. Here's what he told us.
When describing the Argentinian audience he used the untranslatable Abruzzese expression "Natre passe", which means something like "Just another league"... Comparing to the other crowds seen around the world during the last 12 months of tour the Argentinians seemed to be the hottest and the wildest... The standing area of the River Plate Stadium was constantly jumping during the whole show, even between the pauses. (!!!) All the songs were accompanied by loud chanting, even Black Ice. (!!!). Highway to Hell was the loudest song of the entire tour. Satan himself would be proud of this audience...
The performance of the boys was excellent as usual. Obviously the setlist remained the same. Apparently the extra cameras expected for the recording of the live DVD were not there last night. Probably the shoot will take place tomorrow and on Sunday...
Soon more on the Argentinian trip of AC/DC Abruzzo... Stay tuned....

Hectic weeks for AC/DC Abruzzo's staff... While AC/DC Abruzzo's President is in Sydney eating kangaroo, fighting gigantic spiders and arranging the final details of Project Australia the Vice President Andrea is currently reaching Buenos Aires together with his wife and Marcom of AC/DC Italia to participate in the 3 memorable concerts that will take place in the Argentinian capital on December 2, 4 and 6. AC/DC Abruzzo couldn't miss Argentina and will be there to tell you everything!
As you probably already know AC/DC have reportedly decided to record the three Buenos Aires shows for their next coming Live DVD. No doubt the Argentinian crowd (lots of them are of Italian and Abruzzese heritage) is one of the hottest and wildest crowds of the planet and the shows will be awesome! After the Rock'n'Roll Train video shot in London, the "Anything goes" video shot in Paris Bercy AC/DC Abruzzo will be again in an official AC/DC video release.

As announced the second edition of the Rustelle Elettriche Day (Electrical Arrosticini) took place in Città Sant’Angelo, Abruzzo a few nights ago. The Stirring Committee together with the Vice President, his wife and the former IT consultant/cofounder gathered in a secret location to lay out the guidelines for the next months on tour. Unfortunately the little puppy dog mascot Rosie could not attend the meeting.
The General Assembly discussed the memorable achievements of AC/DC Abruzzo in the past 12 months of activity during the Black Ice World Tour, from the wine tasting session with Brian and Cliff in Stockholm to the unforgettable behind the scene chat with Angus in Paris and Dublin. The backstage experience of the Vice President in Milan with the AC/DC Italia crew before the second night at the Forum was also considered a milestone for AC/DC Abruzzo.
During the long work dinner the General Assembly set the goals of AC/DC Abruzzo for the next months. Although all the details cannot be revealed at the moment we can proudly announce that the AC/DC Abruzzo will continue its international activities both in South America and Australia. The possibility of adding Japan to our agenda was also considered during a phone call between Orangus and the President.
Unanimity was reached on all the points in the Agenda except for the external collaboration with The Kosp, tenaciously opposed by the Vice President, who remained skeptical about the compatibility with Project AC/DC Abruzzo. After tough negotiations the Vice President threatened to resign but an agreement was finally reached thanks to multilateral diplomatic efforts. A qualified majority vote followed and the collaboration with the Kosp was finally approved. E tarallucci e vino per tutti!!

On several occasion we pointed out that Abruzzo is undoubtedly the greatest rock'n'roll region in Italy. As you know we have specialties such as the Guitar Spaghetti, we have the solid rock of the Gran Sasso Mountain (i.e. "Big Stone" Mountain), we have Rocco "Hard as Rock" Siffredi and Rocco'n'Rollo...

2° Rustelle Elettriche Day
AC/DC Abruzzo staff will gather tomorrow in Citta Sant'Angelo (City of Angels) for the Second "Electric Rustelle night". There will be a secret general meeting to establish the guidelines for Project Australia and the forthcoming collaboration with the KOSP. The Agenda will be disccussed in front of hundreds of "arrosticinis" and several bottles of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
You all know about the day when the President and the Vicepresident made the historic decision to found AC/DC Abruzzo and start the Project. It was in Scranton, PA. on October 24, 2 days before the private gig in Wilkes Barre which witnessed the glorious come back of AC/DC.
But just few of you know about the secret meeting that took place in Abruzzo at the end of December 2008. It was the “Rustelle Elettriche” day (“Electrical Arrosticini”). On that occasion the AC/DC Abruzzo founding fathers invited AC/DC Italia staff to the Abruzzo headquarters to inform them about the Project and ask for their blessing. A sumptuous dinner offered by AC/DC Abruzzo followed, with Arrosticini, Pasta alla mugnaia, Tagliatelle all’uovo and Montepulciano D’Abruzzo wine. Numerous bottles of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

That night AC/DC Italia offered a special gift to AC/DC Abruzzo. The photo of the the first AC/DC's cover on Rolling Stone, printed from the original file. This magnificent collector’s item immediately became an object of devotion for AC/DC Abruzzo and was subsequently named “IL SIMULACRO” (The Sacred Image of the Gods).

The Stirring Committee then decided to carry this sacred image for the whole European Arena tour, from Oslo to Glasgow as an icon of protection and good omen. During the European tour the Simulacrum was showed to Brian, Malcolm and Angus on several occasions and they always showed their approval and gave us their blessing by adding their signatures to it. Brian in Stockholm, Angus in Prague, Malcolm in Dublin.

The Sacred Image had a powerful simbolic function for us in AC/DC Abruzzo and kept us going also during the most difficult moments of the indoor tour, especially in Milan, Spain and UK. The Simulacro was broken twice, in Bilbao and Glasgow but the Gods of Rock were always merciful with us and nothing evil happened.

AC/DC ABRUZZO has enforced a strict "IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING" policy since its creation trusting in the immense power of Rock'n'Roll (which is NOT noise pollution and which will never die). All our accomplishments are the result of this policy combined with hard work, planning and improvisation. Expressions such as "I can't", "it's impossible", "I don't have a ticket", "I don't have the money" and similar limiting beliefs are not in our dictionary. We just don't like making excuses.
