AC/DC ABRUZZO OFFICIAL REPORT

AC/DC are officially back in Europe for the last leg of the tour in Sofia, Bulgaria. AC/DC Abruzzo obviously couldn't miss the first night of the tour and was there with all the staff. Matteo, Andrea and Stefano + Marco from AC/DC Italia. Actually, Andrea was not supposed to come but he couldn't resist and showed up in Sofia only for 24 hours. Honestly, our loyalty to the band starts to be surprising even for us...

Most fans were expecting a setlist change. But obviously there wasn't. We had discussed this before the tour and we don't care anymore about the setlist. What counts for us is to get to see as many shows as possible before it's too late. In the end, the setlist is tight, the boys are in great shape, we love to travel around the world with them, we created a mechanism that allows us to do it so we'll continue till Bilbao anyway... And you'll keep getting our stories, report, photos and videos...

The major change was at the beginning, just after the intro. If you're reading this obviously you don't care too much about "spoiling the surprise" so here's what the 2010 Eurocrowd will get as extras. Some pyros on the catwalk after the video intro and Angus coming from the end of the catwalk (which was pretty cool). For the rest is exactly the same show, including the high catwalk (which we don't like) we got in Buenos Aires and Australia...

Brian's performance was one of the best of the tour. Hat's off to Jonna! Angus, in green, is clearly growing his hair and looks really cool. Maybe he put on a few extra pounds since Australia but he keeps jumping and duckwalking like crazy. The Bulgarian crowd was very warm; we could tell we were back in Europe. Brian seemed to love it and decided to cheer up the crowd by waving a Bulgarian flag during Dirty Deeds.

Ok. That's all from Sofia. See you in Bucharest. Or maybe on the Rock'n'Roll train
we're taking tonight...

UPDATE FROM SOFIA

The AC/DC Abruzzo crew has finally arrived in Sofia for the kick-off show of the final leg of the Black Ice World tour. We met with some old good friends that have been with us around the world in the past year and half since the Wilkes Barre shows. We had a few pints of Wymehcko beer and some food as well...

We also spent some time around the Vasil Levski Stadium and took a few exclusive shots of the stage despite the heavy rain...

If you don't care about "spoiling the surprise" you can have a look at AC/DC Abruzzo photo gallery.

THE KILLER SPAGHETTI AGLIO OLIO E PEPERONCINO

Recipe by AC/DC Abruzzo in collaboration with Antonio

Ingredients for 3 hungry fans after/before an AC/DC show

* 750g of spaghetti (eg. Barilla N°5)
* 1 bunch Italian parsley, finely chopped
* 6 spoons of extra virgin olive oil
* 3 garlic cloves, diced
* 3 dried chilies, crushed
* salt, to season
* parmesan (ie PARMIGIANO REGGIANO)

Directions

1. Bring salted water to a boil, and cook spaghetti for about 8 minutes.
2. Remove just before the al dente stage (don't throw the spaghetti on the wall, just taste it).
3. Drain but reserve a few ladles of pasta water.
4. Chop the parsley and grate the parmes
5. In another pan, heat extra virgin olive oil and combine garlic and chili peppers and the parsley.
6. Cook for a few minutes or until golden brown.
7. Do not burn the garlic; otherwise it will become bitter.
8. Add spaghetti to the pan with olive oil and mix well.
9. To prevent dryness, ladle some pasta water to the pasta.
10. Cook for another minute or until desired state of al dente.
11. Add the grated parmesan

BUON APPETITO!

THE AUSTRALIAN CHRONICLES 10

FREMANTLE - Part 3
The Statue of Bon Scott

The day after the first Perth show there was a continuous pilgrimage of fans visiting the statue and paying respect to Bon in the year of the 30th anniversary of his death. Bon Scott has become immortal. And the statue is just another way to remind us all he will never die.

We have prepared a video to document the tour of Fremantle in collaboration with AC/DC Italia, including exclusive video footage from the cemetery and from the Highway to Hell tour.

THE AUSTRALIAN CHRONICLES 9

EXPERIMENT - HOW TO CONVERT A OLD FAMILY GUY INTO AN AC/DC FAN

Antonio: What is that thing hanging over the stage?
Matteo: That is the Bell, Antonio.... THE HELL'S BELL!

Antonio before the experiment

Among the hundreds of people we've met during our trek around Australia there is an Italian man from Ancona (in the Marche region, near Abruzzo). His name was Antonio but we called him 'Ndò or Andò according to the Abruzzo fashion. Antonio was in his mid-50's and he was visiting Australia by himself (he told us that his wife had to cancel due to some work commitments).

He caught our attention immediately: dressed as a typical Italian single man on holiday, suggesting a past of playboy lifestyle, he told us stories about his travels around the world for business and pleasure from China to the Caribbean Islands. We immediately understood he shared some of the founding principles of AC/DC Abruzzo's philosophy...

So we asked if he knew AC/DC. He bluntly replied that he had never heard of them. Then we asked if he was aware of the existence of songs such as Highway to Hell or Thunderstruk. Again he said no... The case was peculiar... but still understandable, especially considering that Italy has never had a rock'n'roll tradition. Especially in the 60's and 70's...

Antonio, a rock'n'roll virgin, could become an interesting case-study. So we asked ourselves the following questions. What happens if you bring a middle age man with a family and children who has never heard of AC/DC to an AC/DC concert? Is AC/DC live music so powerful to convert this family guy (similar age and cultural background of our fathers), who used to love Toto Cutugno, Gianni Morandi and maybe even worse Eros Ramazzotti, into a rock fan?

We couldn't resist the temptation and we immediately seized the opportunity and invited him to the next AC/DC concert on our agenda. He accepted. He offered to return the favour by cooking Spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino. We accepted.

THE EXPERIMENT

The meeting was outside the stadium at 5.30. The briefing took place. Antonio was very collaborative and followed us to the "moshpit". He immediately showed interest for the stage catwalk and for the flashing horns.

Just after the beginning of Rock'n'Roll train, he started nodding the head. During the Jack he kept screaming and clapping hands (especially during the "tits parade"). During Let There Be Rock you could see him moving rhythmically his arms, head and tapping with the foot. And every time Angus or Brian came on the catwalk towards us he jumped frantically. During Highway to Hell he even grabbed our trident and started screaming (although he didn't know the lyrics). The metamorphosis had taken place.

After the shows he bought all the t-shirts available and thanked us for making him see this amazing concert. The show was incredibly powerful and that "small guy in shorts was so energetic!"

The experiment was successful. We had proven that AC/DC live music is so powerful that can convert even a 50-year old Italian guy who has never listened to rock'n'roll into a fan. The experiment now needs to be replicated in Europe.

That night Antonio insisted to cook for us again. Meatballs on the menu. Italian style.

AC/DC ABRUZZO EUROPEAN TOUR 2010 ANNOUNCED!

KOSP ITALIAN SEDUCTION SCHOOL

Shot Down in Flames (part 1)

Out on the town
Lookin' for a woman
Gonna gimme good love
Anybody wanna hand off me
And give me plenty of
She was standin' alone
Over by the juke box
Like she'd some thing to sell
I said baby what's the goin' price
She told me to go to hell

The training of KK's and KOSP's instructors has continued in Australia in the last few weeks. All the guidelines provided by KK and KOSP have been implemented with very good results. But there's still room for improvement...

Today we analyze one of the most educational songs by AC/DC on picking up girls: "Shot Down in Flames". Here, Bon and the boys illustrate a typical scenario in Australian pubs and explain how to approach a girl standing alone (also referred to in technical terms as "Lone Wolf")
. In the song Bon implies that direct game is the most effective and so men should not be afraid to approach a girl with a very direct opener such as"What's your going price". Perhaps, in this case, the opener is a bit too extreme but it makes you understand that sometime you should cut off all the indirect lines, like those in "Can I sit next to you girl" and go straight to the point, just like Orangus. In the end rockstars don't have too much time to waste... We have tried this approach in some pubs here in Sydney and we were really amazed with the results!
